b'2024 Youth Poster Competition Inspired to capture and depict the collective excitement and wonder of the Stampede Parade, Lloyd Templeton entered his artwork into the 2024 Youth Poster Competition, ultimately becoming the 2024 Calgary Stampede Poster Artist.Lloyds piece featured Stoney Nakoda Tipi Holder, Duane Mark, riding the downtown Parade route, alongside a diverse group of participants and spectators. Duane is a Stoney language and cultural Instructor and is passionate about preserving and sharing the Stoney Nakoda language. The pair, now friends, collaborated on the title of the piece, Wchspa Skadabi Odginabi, which translates to Celebrating the Calgary Stampede.This was the sixth year the Calgary Stampede engaged youth in2024 Youth Poster Competition winner, Lloyd Templeton.this unique learning and development opportunity. Participants spent time learning from some of the look at what life is like on the farm and how agriculture impactsbest in the rodeo industry before getting the opportunity to put our daily lives. Twelve youth received a steer from the Calgary Stampedes OH Ranch herd in October 2023 to raise and bring back to show in the 2024 Calgary Stampede Junior Steer Classics Branded Beef class. In addition, they were offered educational seminars throughout the program on everything from nutrition to judging, to support their learning experience.
