Experience Education at the OH Ranch
The Calgary Stampede Foundation creates motivated and engaged young Calgarians, empowered to do amazing things, by providing places and programs in which youth can thrive. The Foundation creates a generation of young people with the skills, confidence, and strength to make us all stronger.
The OH Ranch Education program explores Alberta’s history, western heritage, ecosystems, sustainability, herd management and more at the Calgary Stampede’s OH Ranch. With the OH Ranch being one of Alberta’s most historic properties and an authentic working cattle ranch, students are provided exceptional cultural experiences and an appreciation for building community. The program provides direct connections to the Alberta Education Social Studies and Science curriculum for Grade 4, 5, and 6 classes delivered through unique and authentic learning experiences. Engage and empower your students to think deeper, develop connections to their community and understand their impact on the world around them.
In this program, students will enjoy:
Touring our working cattle ranch
Ridge walk and ecosystems exploration
Visiting an early rancher’s cabin and North West Mounted Police outpost
Hands-on western and ranch themed activities
To benefit fully from this program, please allow a minimum of 4.5 hours for your visit, in addition to your travel time.
We are now accepting registrations for our Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 Programs. Please refer to the registration form link for dates and further details.
Stories from the OH Ranch
Stampede 365: OH Ranch provides Calgary students with hands-on learning environment
A Day in May at the OH Ranch by the Grade 4 Students of Prince of Wales School Green tree triangles and cinnamon brown branches wave in the wind. On the highest peak, a purple flower is starting to bloom. The mountains are hidden by the clouds while a cow bellows in the field.
A rain is tinkling down like a soft shower on my head.
It’s May at the OH Ranch.
