Welcome to the 1912 Society!

The 1912 Society is named in honour of the philanthropic and community leaders that founded the Calgary Stampede in 1912. When you join the 1912 Society, you unite with a group of passionate donors who are an essential part of the Stampede family.

This giving society recognizes donors who contribute $1,912 or more annually to our youth programs. Your annual gift plays an important role in ensuring our programs remain exceptional, accessible, and sustainable.

What We Support

The Calgary Stampede Foundation supports the youth of Alberta by providing dynamic programming that promotes citizenship and education, and enhances leadership skills and personal growth. The Foundation creates spaces that connect with the arts, heritage and education in order to make a vibrant and engaging community.

Performing Arts

Offering diverse learning opportunities, youth work on developing performance, musicianship, interpersonal and life skills. These skill building programs allow them to achieve their goals and become tomorrow’s leaders.

Education

We deliver immersive learning experiences by taking students out of the traditional classroom and connecting them with community leaders. Students build life skills and gain a strong sense of belonging and community.

Agriculture Programming

Young people from both urban and rural communities learn about Alberta’s heritage, sustainability, herd management, and conservation. These programs develop and foster citizenship and a sense of community for all those who take part.

Indigenous Youth Program

The Indigenous Youth Program was created in 2016 to bring together Indigenous youth between the ages of 9 and 14. Each program day is built differently, with program elements working to build resilience and a connection to their traditions whilst having fun. Program facilitators are First Nations individuals who also serve as role models for participants. The program provides participants key opportunities to connect with their cultures as well as other Indigenous youth in a safe space.
