Barb Fleet

Admin Assistant

Barb Fleet was born in Calgary but as her family had already experienced a several prairie winters, they very quickly moved to the Okanagan and settled in Kelowna, BC. After high school she lived in Calgary and Vancouver then like the rest of her family, got the travel bug. She participated in a youth exchange in Indonesia, travelled a bit through Europe, stopping for short periods of time to work in the South of France and Germany. She then moved to the UK for several years where she landed a great job in the Canadian Tourism Department at the Canadian High Commission in London.

She eventually moved back to Canada and settled in Calgary where she spent several years raising her 3 children. Eventually it was time to step back into work life. She enjoyed 6 years working at the Alberta Real Estate Foundation then 8 years working for 3 separate City of Calgary councilors until she finally landed her dream job with the Young Canadians. As a parent of a YC Alumni, Barb has a profound passion for the program and all it has done, not only for her daughter, but for all kids who have participated. She looks forward to many years with the Young Canadians and is grateful to be part of a program that not only develops performance skills, but helps create our leaders of tomorrow.
