Christine Chanhao
Dance Instructor
Christine Chanhao was born and raised in Calgary, AB where she began dancing at the age of 7. She grew up training extensively and competing in ballet, jazz, contemporary, modern, tap, and hip hop. She's travelled across Canada and the United States receiving numerous awards at dance competitions and attended workshops throughout.
She's completed all of my ADAPT syllabus Jazz and Tap exams, as well as my Advanced 2 RAD ballet exam with distinction, and has worked and performed with multiple artists and choreographers such as Michael Fitzgerald, Alexander Chung, Sean Cheeseman, Candace Brown, and Shiori Kamij. Other credits include World of Dance Thailand the Live shows, The JUNO Awards (Alessia Cara), WEM (West Edmonton Mall), Disney Dance the Magic Parade, and The Young Canadians (The Grandstand Show at the Calgary Stampede).
Christine moved to Edmonton in 2017 and trained with NXG Company and Kore dance studio for 4 years, which made her develop a deeper understanding of hip hop and its culture. As a team, she went to compete across North America and the US and won World of Dance Vegas 2018.
In 2021, she finished my Bachelors of Science Degree at the University of Alberta with a major in Biology and Minor in Chemistry, and is currently based in Calgary working as a Biologist, dance artist, choreographer, and teacher. She's constantly inspired and driven by artists and wants to create an environment where others feel challenged, connected, and grow from new discoveries.
