Greg Newton, Executive Vice-President, Conventions and Events & General Manager BMO Centre

Born in Toronto, Canada, Greg has divided his life between living in Calgary, Toronto and Ottawa. With now more than 25 years in the hospitality industry, Greg spent the first third of his career in management of 4-star hotels, before transitioning to convention centres. Greg had the privilege of being part of the team that opened the new Ottawa Convention Centre (Shaw Centre) in 2011 before moving back to Calgary to join the Calgary Stampede.

In his role as Executive Vice President, Conventions and Events & General Manager BMO Centre, Greg is responsible for overseeing the strategy, business growth and operations of the BMO Centre and Stampede Park events. This includes leading various teams that oversee sales, marketing, food & beverage, event execution and facility management for the BMO Centre and other event venues across the Calgary Stampede Park.

In the more than 12 years since joining the Calgary Stampede, Greg initiated the expansion efforts of the BMO Centre into the largest convention center in Western Canada opening in June 2024.
