The Taste of Stampede Committee is focused on creating hands-on, immersive and entertaining experiences that celebrate culinary leaders and producers through engaging showcases and competitions.
Specific Activities:
- Collaborate with the programming team to help shape the future vision of the Taste of the Stampede program.
- Plan and host live culinary experiences during the 10-day Stampede, including cooking demos and classes, with full support for setup, teardown, and on-site logistics.
- Collaborate with internal committees to develop engaging programming that showcases Alberta’s culinary talent, local chefs, and regional ingredients.
- Manage presentation logistics and presenter support including food delivery, storage and prep, chef cooking supplies, timing, sample distribution, kitchen maintenance and cleanup.
- Secure and manage all required supplies, including full pantry, fresh food items, cutlery, dishware, cleaning supplies, sample containers, etc.
- Recruit and coordinate local eateries, guest chefs, food producers, and facilitate on-stage presentations and competition events.
- Execute competition logistics, including emcee coordination, judging, voting process, and winner announcements.
- Manage volunteer recruitment, training including certifications, and scheduling to support the 10-day event. Roles include hosting, guest support, same prep, distribution, cleanup, check-in, social media, and event photography.
- Support content development for social media and media outreach to drive engagement and awareness.
