The tour leaves at 10 a.m. and takes approximately one hour.
Note: this activity is not suitable for those with mobility restrictions.

Members of the five tribes of Treaty 7, dressed in traditional regalia, proudly share their heritage and culture through dance, music and commentaries. Come join them in the Friendship Dance.

Kick up your heels and join our square dancers on Stephen Avenue between Centre and 1st Street SW. Experience isn’t necessary! With the help of our Fluor Square Dancers, anyone can learn to dance.

About the Downtown Attractions Committee

The Calgary Stampede Downtown Attractions Committee (DTA) was formed in 1947 by a group of square dancers dancing on the back of a rig and traveling downtown from hotel to hotel. It became an official Calgary Stampede Committee in 1953 and today brings the Stampede spirit and western heritage to downtown during the Calgary Stampede.

DTA has evolved into the largest Calgary Stampede Committee with over 325 year-round volunteers. During Stampede week, we are joined by another 180 volunteers from Fluor, our major sponsor. ALL events and activities hosted by DTA are coordinated by volunteers and ALL are FREE!
