The Calgary Stampede Queens’ Alumni Committee preserves the legacy and history of past Stampede Queens and Princesses and advances Western hospitality through ambassadorship, volunteer engagement and community programming. The Committee delivers inclusive experiences that bring volunteers, visitors and community members together, enriching the lives of youth in our community with developmental disabilities and their families.
Specific Activities
- Plan and deliver unique Stampede-inspired Giddy Up programming for youth in our community with developmental disabilities and their families, offering access to events in which they can fully participate and providing annual opportunities to connect, celebrate, and share the joy of the Stampede spirit.
- Draw on extensive Royalty experience to serve as ambassadors for visiting royalty, dignitaries and guests to the Calgary Stampede, highlighting the ten-day event, the organization and the spirit of Western hospitality.
- Honour the Queens’ Alumni legacy by preserving historical archives and treasured artifacts unique to the Stampede Queens and Princesses.
- Celebrate Queens’ Alumni history, educate audiences and foster a deeper connection to the past, through engaging storytelling and displays that showcase the evolution of Western Royalty and its distinctive role in the Stampede story.
- Steward an Advancement Fund that provides scholarships and gifts to aligned organizations and families, creating opportunities and lasting impact for generations to come.
- Cultivate meaningful connections through social media and digital platforms by engaging Queens’ Alumni members, promoting community involvement, celebrating the positive contributions of the Committee and the Calgary Stampede, and championing inclusivity and accessibility.
- Keep past Stampede Queens and Princesses connected and involved through activities, ongoing communication and member highlights, strengthening relationships, increasing engagement and celebrating the shared Calgary Stampede legacy.
