The Sam Centre Volunteer Program Committee delivers exceptional, year-round experiences for visitors to the Sam Centre by recruiting, training and operationalizing a diverse, passionate, and dedicated volunteer base that demonstrates remarkable western hospitality and helps to bring Stampede stories to life.
Specific Activities
Design and maintain a volunteer program to achieve Sam Centre objectives.
Promote Sam Centre volunteer opportunities in the community.
Recruit, select, onboard and train volunteers on an ongoing basis to meet the Sam Centre’s evolving operational needs and deliver exceptional guest experiences.
Develop and maintain Sam Centre volunteer policies, procedures, training resources, and other materials.
Implement a program to recognize and retain volunteers, creating a community of engaged volunteers who feel valued.
Leverage the already existing Event Volunteer Committee platform for scheduling and engagement.
Collaborate with Sam Centre management and staff to identify operational needs and schedule volunteers.
Work with Calgary Stampede and Calgary Stampede Foundation staff to manage risk and liability.
Monitor and evaluate volunteer program success.
