Brandon Smith

Drumline Coordinator

Brandon Smith is a percussion educator with a passion for developing confident, disciplined, and musical performers. He began his teaching career with the Stetson Showband battery during the 2017–2018 season, specializing in snare drum, and completed his final season with the program in 2019–2020. He joined the Calgary Stampede Showband percussion team in the 2018–2019 season and has since taken on increasing leadership responsibilities. Beginning in the 2024–2025 season, Brandon became the Battery Coordinator, overseeing battery operations while prioritizing logistics, student development, and musical growth.

Brandon also serves as the Drumline Specialist for BOC, working with students at Round-Up and Stetsons to develop confident, passionate, and team-driven performers. His marching experience includes two seasons with the Bishop Grandin Marching Ghosts, one season with Vertigo Indoor Percussion, three seasons with the Calgary Stampede Showband, and two seasons with the Boston Crusaders, where he studied under Colin McNutt.

Outside of percussion, Brandon is pursuing a double degree at the University of Calgary, working toward a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
