Brennan Kennedy

Percussion Coordinator

Brennan Kennedy is the Percussion Coordinator for the Calgary Stampede Showband and has been a member of the Showband’s instructional faculty since the 2014–2015 season. He initially joined the faculty as a drumline technician before stepping into the role of Percussion Coordinator for the 2015–2016 season, a position he has proudly held ever since.

Brennan’s passion for the marching arts began in 2005 as a member of his middle school drumline. That experience sparked a lifelong connection to percussion and the marching arts, leading him to join the Red Deer Royals Marching Showband, where he performed from 2006 to 2009. He later became a member of the Calgary Stampede Showband, performing with the ensemble from 2010 to 2012.

Brennan’s transition from performer to educator began with the Red Deer Royals in 2010, where he served as a percussion technician through 2014. In 2015, he became the Royals’ Drumline Coordinator, a role he held through his final season with the organization in 2016.

For more than a decade, Brennan has been proud to help shape the percussion program at the Calgary Stampede Showband. His approach to education emphasizes musicianship, excellence, consistency, and teamwork, while creating an environment where young performers are challenged to grow, build confidence, and develop their own lasting passion for music and the marching arts.

Outside of the Showband, Brennan is a professional music producer, audio engineer, mixer, and live sound engineer. A JUNO and multiple CCMA Award winner, he works out of OCL Studios and has built a career working with artists in both studio and live environments. Brennan brings that professional experience to his work with the Showband, combining the discipline, musicianship, collaboration, and attention to detail of the professional music industry with his passion for educating and developing the next generation of performers.
