Simon Luna

Woodwind Choir Instructor

Born and raised in Venezuela, Simon was taught about music and dance by cousins, aunts and uncles. He moved to Canada on 2008 and a couples of years later in 2010 he began his music career as a flautist at school.

He joined the Bands of Calgary as a member of the Calgary round-up Band in 2012, later joining Calgary Stetsons Showband in 2014 and finally Calgary Stampede Showband in 2015. He aged out in 2019 after receiving the Member of Year award, which is awarded by fellow members.

He started teaching in Stampede Showband on 2021, and is looking to learn all that he can from peers and students alike.
